About the Dexcom Stelo

The Dexcom Stelo is a glucose biosensor that has been cleared by the FDA for over-the-counter (OTC) use, which means it will be available without a prescription. The Stelo Glucose Biosensor is built on the most accurate continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology from Dexcom.

  • Sensor Life: Stelo delivers glucose readings 24/7 directly to a smartphone for up to 15 days.
  • Data Transmission: The Dexcom Stelo sensor calculates a glucose value every 15 minutes and transmits that data via Bluetooth to your mobile device in real-time. You'll need to keep the Stelo app on and open on your phone and within 20 feet of your sensor to receive data.
    • Note: The Dexcom Stelo <> Levels connection is only available with a 3 hour delay via Apple Health for iOS users and Health Connect for Android.
  • Pairing: Sensor pairing usually takes less than 5 minutes. If it takes longer, follow this link for troubleshooting tips.
  • Sensor Data Storage: The Dexcom Stelo can hold up to 24 hours of your most recent glucose data when the Bluetooth signal is weak or disrupted.
  • Calibration: Dexcom Stelo is designed to function without requiring fingerstick calibrations.
  • Warm-up period: The sensor will take 30 minutes to warm up after application before it will begin reading glucose data.
  • Size: Dexcom Stelo is around the same size as a Dexcom G7 sensor, which is round in shape and is W: 1.07” x L: 0.94”.
