How to Apply and Connect Dexcom G7 to the Levels App

Ready to unlock insights into your metabolic health? You can bring your Dexcom G7 to the Levels app! Your Dexcom G7 helps you understand how your body responds to food, exercise, stress, and sleep, while tracking your progress in the Levels app.

Step 1: Download the Dexcom G7 app

Download the Dexcom G7 app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Requires iOS 18.6 or later, or Android 13 or later.

Step 2: Sign in or create your Dexcom account

Open the Dexcom G7 app and sign in with your Dexcom account.

If you are new, you can create an account in the Dexcom G7 app in a few quick steps.

Tip: Use your email address instead of your phone number for your user ID. This can help prevent login issues later.

Step 3: Apply your Dexcom G7

Follow the in-app guide for proper placement.

Apply the Dexcom G7 to the back of your upper arm.
When you are ready, press the applicator firmly against your arm until you feel a click. This means the Dexcom G7 is inserted.

Important: Take a photo of the serial number (printed on the applicator or on the side of the box). You may need this for a replacement through Dexcom.

Step 4: Apply your Levels Performance Cover

Once your Dexcom G7 is on, place the Levels Performance Cover over it. This can help keep your Dexcom G7 secure during workouts, showers, and day-to-day activity.

Step 5: Connect Dexcom G7 to the Levels app

After your Dexcom G7 is applied, open the Levels app:

Navigate to the More tab
Tap Devices → Manage
Select Dexcom G7 → Dexcom account
Select Connect Dexcom account
Tap Connect
Log in with your Dexcom credentials
Read the Consent to Share My Data form
Sign the Consent form and tap Authorize
Authentication complete 🎉 you'll see glucose appear after ~1hr

Navigate back to the Today page and pull down to refresh data. Confirm that glucose data appears in the chart after 1 hour. Check the Dexcom app to make sure the readings match what you see in the Levels app.

Dexcom G7 measures glucose every 5 minutes.
Your data refreshes in Levels every 5 minutes on a 1hour delay.
