Levels Performance Covers
Levels Performance Covers help hold your glucose sensor in place for the full time you wear your CGM. They are especially helpful when you are active. They help protect against snagging and peeling, and they can assist with water intrusion.
You will receive 4 Levels Performance Covers in every Stelo kit shipped to you.
Our Performance Covers are designed to minimize irritation when worn for long periods of time. They are latex- and oxide-free, made with hypoallergenic adhesive, and use a breathable cotton blend material. For more details, see Skin Grip’s materials transparency page.
When to use Performance Covers
Consider using a Performance Cover if you:
- Live an active lifestyle (exercise frequently, play sports, or swim regularly)
- Have had sensors fall off before (previous sensor adhesion issues)
- Work in challenging environments (hot or humid conditions, physical labor, or frequent clothing changes)
- Experience adhesive failure (you notice the sensor edges lifting)
- Want extra peace of mind (you prefer added security)
How to apply a Performance Cover
Timing options
- During initial application: Apply the Performance Cover immediately after placing your sensor for maximum security.
- After the sensor is applied: Add a Performance Cover at any time during your 15-day session if you notice the edges lifting.
Application steps
- Clean and dry the area. Make sure your skin and sensor are completely dry.
- Open the Performance Cover. Remove it from its packaging.
- Center over the sensor. Align the cover so the sensor is completely covered.
- Press firmly. Smooth the cover from the center outward to ensure good adhesion.
- Rub to activate adhesive. Rub the entire surface for 10 to 15 seconds to activate the adhesive.
Caring for your Performance Cover
During wear
- Pat dry after showering or swimming.
- Avoid using lotions or oils near the covered area.
- Check daily that edges remain secure.
Replacing covers
You can remove and replace Performance Covers as needed throughout your 15-day sensor session.
Removing Performance Covers
When it is time to remove your sensor or replace the cover:
- Peel slowly and gently, parallel to your skin.
- Use warm water or baby oil to loosen stubborn adhesive.
- Clean any adhesive residue with an oil-based remover.
