How to Log a Recipe

Saving recipes makes it faster to log meals you eat often.

Create a new recipe

  1. Open the Levels app.
  2. From your Timeline, tap +.
  3. Tap Custom.
  4. At the top of the screen, switch from Food to Recipes.
  5. Tap Create New Recipe.
  6. Enter your recipe details:
    • Name (for example, “Healthy Breakfast Casserole”)
    • Number of servings (for example, 12)
  7. Tap Add Ingredients, then choose how you want to add ingredients:
    • Describe: Dictate or type multiple ingredients at once
    • Barcode: Scan ingredient barcodes with your phone’s camera
    • Search: Search the food database for each ingredient
    • Custom: Manually enter details for each ingredient
      • If you use Describe, you can tap the microphone icon and list all ingredients (for example, “16 large eggs, 1.5 pounds ground turkey, 2 tablespoons avocado oil, ½ onion, 1 green bell pepper, 2 green onions, one 14 oz can of artichoke hearts, 2 cups packed fresh baby spinach, 1 teaspoon chili powder, ½ teaspoon cumin, ½ teaspoon oregano, salt, and pepper”).
  8. Tap Analyze to calculate nutrition for each ingredient.
  9. Review and save:
    • Confirm ingredients are correct, and adjust if needed.
    • Review macros per serving.
    • Tap Save.

Log your recipe

  1. From the main screen, tap +.
  2. Tap Search, then search for your recipe.
  3. Tap the recipe to log it.
  4. Tap Review to confirm details or adjust serving size (for example, 1.5 servings).
  5. Tap Save the Meal.

Edit your recipe

  1. Tap +.
  2. Tap More.
  3. Tap Custom.
  4. Switch from Food to Recipes.
  5. Select the recipe you want to edit.
  6. Tap Edit this custom recipe.
