Freestyle Libre Setup Step 1: Download the Apps
Overview:
As a first step, you will need to download two apps (LibreLink app & Levels app) to your phone. You will use the LibreLink app to scan your sensor, and the Levels app to view all of your Levels data, log your food/exercise activities, and learn from your insights.
⚠️ This article is about the manual-scan Freestyle Libre sensor. If you're using the Libre 2 sensor, please use the Libre 2 app and continue below.
LibreLink App |
LibreLink is an app from the CGM device manufacturer. You will use the LibreLink app to scan your CGM sensor. The data you obtain from scanning this will be transferred to the Levels app for further insights and analytics.

Levels - Metabolic Health App |
Levels - Metabolic Health is our primary app. You'll use the Levels - Metabolic Health app to log your meals and exercise, and view your data & insights. How to download Levels - Metabolic Health app on your phone:

Once you're logged into the Levels app, follow the instructions below to connect your sensor:
- Open and log into the Levels app
- Tap More → tap Devices → tap Manage
- From the sensor menu, select Abbot Freestyle Libre (this option also works for Libre 2)
You'll then be prompted to sign into your Libre account. Be sure that the Libre account you sign into is the same account associated with your current sensor. You can check which email you've logged into Libre with by checking the Account settings in your Libre app.
Once both apps are downloaded to your phone, and you have connected Levels to your LibreLink account in app, please proceed to Step 2 below:
