Freestyle Libre Setup Step 5: Log Food, Activity, & Notes

Overview:

Here’s how to log Food, Exercise, and Notes logs in your Levels app. 
As a best practice, try logging all of your food and exercise—including snacks and walks—in the Levels app. or more information, visit:   FAQ: Why should I log my activities in the app?

How to Log a Meal, Activity, or Note:

  1. In the Levels app, select the plus (+) button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select Meal, Exercise, or Note depending on the log you want to enter. 

For Meal logs, you have several ways to log your meal: AI Describe, Photo, Barcode Scanning, Search, Recent, or Custom.

    1. AI Describe: Tell the app about your meal, and it logs the nutrients for you.
    2. AI Photo Detection: This feature allow you to take a photo of your meal, and AI will analyze and create a macronutrient log for you.
    3. Barcode Scanning: Scan a food item's barcode for instant logging.
    4. Manual Search: Use our database to find and log specific foods.
    5. Recent Meals: Quickly log foods from your meal history.
    6. Custom Food Entry: Manually log unique meals or recipes.

For Exercise logs:

  1. Write a brief description of your exercise
  2. Tap the clock icon to confirm the Start Time (you can also edit the End Time).
  3. Mark your exercise as Strenuous if you don’t want the glucose spike caused by it to affect your score. See instructions here.
  4. Select Save.

For Note logs:

  1. If adding a note, simply enter something that you are interested in to see if it has an impact on your glucose levels.
  2. Select Save


FAQs:

  • Why use the Notes feature? When using Levels you may notice that some unexpected things can impact your glucose levels. Examples include an increase in acute stress, supplements like vitamin c, pain relievers like aspirin, and even some skincare products. Logging these events as a Note will help you draw those connections to how they're affecting your glucose.
