What to Do If You Need a Lab Redraw
Occasionally, the lab isn't able to process one or more of the markers from your original blood draw. When that happens, one additional draw is needed to complete your order. This is what we call a redraw.
Why a redraw happens
A redraw is requested when the lab couldn't fully process your original sample, so some of your markers came back incomplete. It does not mean anything is wrong with your account or that you did anything incorrectly. It simply means the lab needs one more sample to finish your order.
Importantly, a redraw does not require you to purchase a new panel. There is no additional cost for a redraw.
How to complete your redraw
When a redraw is needed, you'll receive an email titled "Action required: Lab redraw needed" with an updated lab requisition attached.
To complete the redraw:
- Open the "Action required: Lab redraw needed" email and locate the updated lab requisition attached to it.
- Visit the same lab location where you had your original draw and use the updated requisition to get your blood drawn again. Many locations accept walk-ins, but some may ask you to book a time directly with the lab, so it's worth checking that location's policy before you go.
- Follow the same prep rules as your first draw: arrive fasted and drink plenty of water beforehand.
You do not need to rebook through the Levels app or repurchase your panel for a redraw. If your member portal only shows an option to purchase the labs again, that's expected. The purchase flow is not the path for a redraw, so you can disregard it and use your updated requisition instead.
Getting your results
Once your new draw is processed, your results will post back to the same labs page in your member portal. Note that your Labs dashboard is separate from the main Levels app.
