How to Adjust Your Max Heart Rate Threshold

How to Adjust Your Max Heart Rate Threshold

When you import workouts from Apple Health or Health Connect, Levels can automatically label a workout as Strenuous once your heart rate passes your max heart rate threshold.

The default threshold is 150 BPM, which is calculated as 85% of an assumed max heart rate of 177 BPM.

If your max heart rate is lower than average and Levels is missing strenuous workouts, you can lower this threshold by following the steps below.

Adjust your max heart rate threshold

  1. Open the Levels app.
  2. Select the More tab in the bottom-right, then tap Settings.
  3. Under App Experience, select Max Heart Rate.
  4. Adjust your threshold, then tap Save.
