How to Log Exercises
Overview:
This article provides an overview of how to manually add exercise logs or import them automatically into your Levels app.
Levels uses entry logs to provide a feedback loop between your actions and your body's responses, raising your metabolic awareness, so it's beneficial to log all of your activities in the Levels app as often as possible.
How to Log Exercises:
You have two options for logging exercise in the Levels app: manually logging your exercise or automatically pulling exercise data into the app from a third-party app.
To manually log exercise:
- In the Levels app, select the green plus (+) button at the bottom of the screen.
- If you only see the two meal log options, tap “See more options” to reveal the full logging menu, then select "Exercise".
- In the logging screen, enter a description of the exercise you performed (1).
- Tap on the date field (2) to set the start and stop times of the exercise (3).
- Levels sets a minimum exercise duration of 15 minutes.
- If you do not add an end time, the entry will default to 15 minutes.
- Tap on “Update” (4).
- (Optional) Mark the exercise as strenuous (5).
- We suggest logging an activity as “strenuous” if your heart rate average exceeds 150 BPM.
- (Optional) Tap on the camera icon if you’d like to add a picture (6).
- Select Save (7).
To log exercise automatically:
- Levels imports activities directly from Apple Health (iOS) and Health Connect (Android) only. If you have a different app to track your exercises, make sure that it's syncing with your Apple Health or Health Connect app.
- From the Levels app, select "More" in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen (1).
- Select "Settings" (2).
- Scroll down to where it says "Connect to Apple Health/Health Connect" and tap the Connect button (3).
- Enable sharing of all of your activities from the prompt within the app.
- After enabling the integration with Apple Health or Health Connect, Levels will import your last three days of activities and all new activities lasting longer than 15 minutes going forward.
You can find more information about importing data from Apple Health or Health Connect here.
