Using Your Own Sensors with Levels
All Levels memberships include continuous glucose monitors as part of your membership, but you can also use your own compatible sensors if you prefer.
Compatible sensors
Levels works with the following continuous glucose monitors:
- Stelo
- Dexcom G7 (via Apple Health & Health Connect)
- Dexcom G6 (via Apple Health & Health Connect)
Why would I use my own sensors?
Some members prefer to use sensors other than Stelo for a few reasons:
- They may have access to other sensors through insurance or a prescription
- They may prefer the features or performance of a specific sensor brand
- They may want to extend their glucose monitoring beyond what's included in their membership
How to connect your own sensor
To use your own sensor with Levels:
- Get your sensor — Obtain your compatible CGM through your healthcare provider, pharmacy, or direct purchase
- Apply the sensor — Follow the manufacturer's instructions to apply and activate the sensor
- Connect to Levels — Open the Levels app and follow the prompts to connect your sensor data to Levels
The Levels app will guide you through the connection process for your specific sensor type selected in the device menu.
What if I use my own sensors?
If you use your own sensors instead of the ones included with your membership:
- You'll still have access to all other membership benefits (labs, clinician review, coaching, app features, etc.)
- Your membership price stays the same
- You're responsible for obtaining and paying for your own sensors
- Levels cannot provide replacements or support for sensors you source independently
Do I get a discount if I use my own sensors?
Membership pricing remains the same whether you use the included Stelo sensors or your own sensors. The membership includes all components (app, labs, coaching, etc.), and CGMs are just one part of the overall package.
