That's why we've designed our new Meal Logging Flowchart - a visual guide that helps you quickly determine the best logging method for any situation, whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or cooking a favorite recipe. 

This intuitive resource takes the guesswork out of tracking so you can focus on what matters most: your metabolic health journey.

Whether you’re in a rush, prepping a familiar dish, or trying something new, this guide will walk you through the flowchart so you can log your meals quickly and accurately.


✅ Step 1: Have You Logged This Meal Before?

  • Yes → Use the Recent Meal / Food Item feature to quickly re-log it.
  • No → Go to Step 2.

⏱ Step 2: Do You Have Time to Log a Meal Right Now?

  • Yes → Continue to Step 3.
  • No
    • Can you take a picture of your meal?
      • Yes → Use Quick Smart Photo Logging.
      • No → Use Quick Meal Describe to jot down a fast text-based log.

📦 Step 3: Does Your Meal Have a Barcode?

  • Yes → Use the Barcode Scanner.
  • No → Go to Step 4.

🏷 Step 4: Is the Meal or Item Branded?

  • Yes → Use Manual Search to find it in the database.

  • If it’s not in the database → You can Create Custom Food or Report Missing Food Item.

  • No → Go to Step 5.

🍳 Step 5: Do You Often Prepare This Meal?

  • Yes → Use Create Recipe to save it for quicker logging in the future.

  • No → Go to Step 6.

📸 Step 6: Can You Take a Picture of Your Meal?

  • Yes → Use Smart Photo Logging.
  • No → Use Meal Describe to log details manually.
