What does "93% accurate" actually mean?

This means 93% of Stelo readings fall within what's called the "20/20% YSI" standard:

• For lab readings above 70 mg/dL: Stelo is within 20% higher or lower
• For lab readings below 70 mg/dL: Stelo is within 20 mg/dL

🧠 Example: If a lab test shows 100 mg/dL, your Stelo reading between 80-120 mg/dL is considered accurate.

Why might my readings differ from a finger stick test?

Stelo measures glucose in your interstitial fluid (between skin cells), while finger sticks measure capillary blood glucose. These readings can differ by about 15 minutes, especially when your glucose is changing rapidly (like after eating). This isn't a malfunction—it's simply measuring from a different source in your body!

Can I manually calibrate Stelo?

No, Stelo cannot be calibrated. It's factory-calibrated and doesn't require manual calibration. The 93% accuracy means calibration isn't necessary — you can trust the readings as they are.
